On Writing

If you build castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.  -Henry David Thoreau

Mr. Thoreau said in this quote beautifully what a writer can do – give foundation to an idea so that many might understand complex concepts and lofty creations of the mind. The written word is a tool to communicate and as such, should be concise, descriptive and enduring while welcoming — and compelling a reader into a story.

As a writer it is my job to us words to frame and explore ideas while crafting easily understood narratives, giving life to stories and concepts that illustrate and represent passion, determination and heart.  My current work takes me mostly to human services, the arts, architecture, healthcare. Creatively, my interests are memoir, poetry and creative nonfiction.

Together, we can build your story on a strong foundation.
